Bogdanci is the largest village of Macedonia, close to the border with Greece. It is a seat of the Bogdanci municipality, containing 4 other small villages, since 1996, the latest territorial plan of the Republic of Macedonia. Before that, Bogdanci was a part of Gevgelija Municipality.
